IP Blocking
Find out more on IP blocking, what it really indicates and just how and when it’s best to utilize it.
If you see a large increase in the traffic to your site and if after you look into the visitor statistics it turns out that it comes from areas around the world or from other web servers, your site is probably being attacked by an automatic bot. These programs go through random Internet sites attempting to log in to their administration area through a brute-force attack or to leave spam comments underneath any article where this kind of an option is provided. However, this is something rather popular these days, but if you know the IP addresses through which the attacks come, you could block them, so the bots will not be able to access your Internet site in any way. Obviously, you'll be able to block IPs even if you allow only people from specific countries to access your Internet site.

IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting
If you have a
cloud hosting account with our company and you want to block one or a few IP addresses, you could use the IP Blocking tool, which is included in our in-house built Hepsia CP. Using a rather simple interface, you are able to restrict any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it requires to complete that is to log inside to your CP, to check out the IP Blocking section, to choose a particular domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to input the IP address. You won't have to do anything complicated if you'd like to block an entire network - you'll just have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot will block the whole range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs shall be listed in the same section, so you'll be able to remove any one of them from the blacklist with simply a mouse click.
